Housing Assistance Grant Program

The Housing Assistance Grant Program enables homeowners, at or below 50 percent of Area Median Income, to stay in their homes by providing emergency home repairs and renovations for handicap accessibility. The program also has limited funding available. The goal of the Housing Assistance Grant Program is to promote affordable housing opportunities and improve housing conditions for low-income families and individuals primarily through emergency home repair and limited down payment assistance. Grant funds are provided through the Ohio Housing Trust Fund.

Nonprofit agencies contract with local qualified construction companies to provide emergency home repairs and renovations for handicap accessibility projects. The nonprofits are selected through a competitive grant application process.
