FY 2011 Community Housing Improvement Program Notice of Funding Availability Memorandum Distributed

The Office of Housing and Community Partnerships announces the availability of approximately $24-28 million of Community Development Block Grant Program, HOME Investment Partnerships Program and Ohio Housing Trust Fund dollars through the FY 2011 Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP). The Use of Testing in Fair Housing Cases Workshop Scheduled

Two Ohio Balance of State Continuum of Care Application Webinars Announced

On February 2 and 9, 2011, the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio will conduct two Ohio Balance of State Continuum of Care application process webinars. The February 2, 2011 webinar will focus on key changes for 2011, including updated timelines, due dates and the new process for submission of new project applications. Patt-McDaniel Announces More than $1.3 Million to Assist with Downtown Revitalization Projects

Ohio Department of Development Director Lisa Patt-McDaniel announced more than $1.3 million in grants from the Community Development Block Grant Comprehensive Downtown Revitalization Program, administered by the Department's Office of Housing and Community Partnerships within the Community Development Division. The grants will assist five Ohio communities to improve their downtowns.

Communities Receive More Than $1.2 Million in Housing Funds

The Ohio Department of Development has approved more than $1.2 million for five Ohio nonprofit organizations to assist these individuals and their families with housing and supportive services. The funds are awarded through the Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS Program, administered by the Department's Office of Housing and Community Partnerships.

Greene County Awarded $20,000 Fair Housing Assistance Grant

Ohio Department of Development Director Lisa Patt-McDaniel announced that Greene County will receive $20,000 on behalf of the Greene County and the City of Xenia consortia to assist with fair housing efforts. The funds will be awarded through the New Horizons Fair Housing Assistance Program, which is administered by the Department's Office of Housing and Community Partnerships.

2011 Lead Abatement Training Program

The Ohio Department of Development’s Office of Housing and Community Partnerships and the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development are co-sponsoring the 2011 Lead Abatement Training Program to provide lead-based paint-related training to housing inspectors, training and professional staff of lead programs, certified lead risk assessors/contractors, and workers who are performing renovation and remodeling activities in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-assisted units.

Request for Public Comment on the Neighborhood Stabilization Program 3
