  • Certifies commercial, industrial, and manufacturing sites based on site characteristics and community assets.
  • Increases Ohio's inventory of certified development ready sites across the state.
  • Ensures future investors that the property meets the state's site selection standards.
  • Assists in the marketing of certified sites.
  • Leverages previous investments in infrastructure.

Eligible Applicants

A political subdivision or person may apply for certification of a site. The applicant must be the property owner or an authorized representative of the owner. Please refer to section 122.9511 of the Ohio Revised Code for a comprehensive definition of "political subdivision" and to section 5701.01 of the Ohio Revised Code for a comprehensive definition of "person."

Program Requirements

SiteOhio certification requires that the due diligence checklist be complete prior to application. Eligible applicants must provide the required documentation for site certification and receive the minimum required score. A third-party consultant will review and certify that the provided materials meet the program requirements for site certification.

Eligible Projects

Eligible projects include a site that upon certification will be a site and facility primarily intended for commercial, industrial, or manufacturing use. Eligible projects do not include sites and facilities intended primarily for residential, retail, or government use.

Timeline for Application

Application is anticipated to be released in Spring 2013.
