Business and Industry | Industrial Site Improvement Fund (ISIF) Program

Strategic Business Investment Division

Program Background:

The Ohio Industrial Site Improvement Fund (ISIF) Program is administered by the ODOD's Strategic Business Investment Division. The primary purpose of the ISIF Program is to assist geographically and/or economically disadvantaged counties around Ohio in the expansion and modernization of buildings, remediation of environmentally contaminated property and completion of other infrastructure improvements at sites used primarily for commercial or industrial activities.

Program Goals:

  • Assist communities identified by the Department as having distressed characteristics in growing their economies through improvements to industrial or commercial property.
  • Leverage the State and local communities’ previous investment(s) in infrastructure.
  • Foster regional cooperation and economic growth strategies.
  • Encourage sustainable development.

Program Operation:

Funds are provided in fiscal year (FY) 2009 via a total of approximately $3.5 million available in grants, with $750,000 maximum grant awards available per eligible county.  Grant amounts cannot exceed 75 percent of the total costs incurred under the site improvement project.  Grant funds are provided on a reimbursement basis.
