February 8, 2010 - The Ohio Energy Resource Division has announced awards for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act State Energy Program Targeting Industry Efficiency grant opportunity. Click here for more information.  

January 26, 2010 - Energy was a major focus of Governor Ted Strickland’s State of the State Address.  In it, he announced three exciting energy-related initiatives: 

  • The establishment of a $40 million Energy Gateway Fund to grow and sustain fuel cell, solar, wind, and energy storage industries;
  • The elimination of Ohio’s tangible personal property tax on generation for select wind and solar facilities that begin construction in 2010, produce energy by 2012, and create Ohio jobs; and 
  • Branding Ohio “America’s Energy Gateway” and showcasing Ohio’s position in renewable energy to visitors at Ohio Turnpike service plazas in Williams and Mahoning counties and future Ohio Department of Transportation projects.
