Ohio Business Development Trip to China

Ohio Department of Development Director Lisa Patt-McDaniel and 17 delegates representing 15 Ohio companies and organizations participated in the Ohio Business Development Trip to China, June 21-30, 2010. The trip had official stops in Beijing, Wuhan, and Shanghai.

The goals of this business development trip were to:

• Encourage Chinese firms to create, expand, and support Ohio jobs by considering investments in Ohio;
• Build partnerships with Ohio’s research community;
• Promote Ohio exports of products and services into China; and
• Further develop educational and cultural ties with Chinese institutions.

Two industry sectors were “focus areas” for this trip: Advanced Energy and Transportation.
