Small Business Register

Mission

The Small Business Register lists the agency proposing the rule, the rule number and the rule name. Clicking on the rule name will take you to the Register of Ohio, which reports the rule's hearing date, public notice, summary and fiscal analysis. You are also able to view the rule document.

Rules or regulations in the Small Business Register fall into three categories:

N = New
A = Amended
R = Rescission

Register of Ohio
Providing public notice of all state agency rule-making.

How to Comment on Rules
Under the Ohio Revised Code, you are invited to comment on the proposed state agency rules before they are adopted.

You have 40 days from the filing date to contact the agency with your opinions.

Listed below are some suggestions for effective comments:

  • Call or e-mail the agency contact as soon as possible. Ask for a full copy of the rule that interests you. You may also request any background information or analysis relating to the rule.
  • Follow up your phone call or e-mail with detailed written comment.
  • Make sure to send copies of your comment to:
  • The agency proposing the rule, to the attention of the contact person.
  • Your state senator or representative. For information about your representative, contact your local Board of Elections.
  • Your trade association or professional association.
